Welcome To Renaissance Afghans

Our journey into the world of dogs and Afghan Hounds began in 1969. While working for our local veterinarian, I adopted a sick, little mixed breed dog that I named Tammy. After a long course of treatment she recovered nicely. Because of her, I joined the local obedience dog club and proceeded to earn her U.D. Title (earning qualifying scores at fun matches) I had her for 18 delightful years!

While working for the vet, I first met Claudia Cochrane and Bonnie Visser (Abashagh Afghans) and their absolutely gorgeous afghan BIS CH. Abashagh Mr. Tambourine Man. THE REST IS HISTORY !!

Out of the next litter that Tambourine sired I obtained my foundation bitch Can. Ch. Abashagh Renaissance Fair Am. Can. CDX. With Bonnie and Claudia as wonderful mentors, they guided me through every maze of the world of showing dogs. My sincere thanks goes to them for helping a total novice!

Our journey leads us thru training and showing Rene to her Canadian Championship and Am. & Can. CDX Titles. She also had 12 AKC points including a major and 2 legs toward her U.D. Title.

She produced one litter sired by Ch. Ambrosia Bon-go-Drummer that produced our “ main man” AKC & Can. Ch. Renaissance Ringmaster Am. Can. CD, Am. CDX( 2 Legs toward Can. CDX). also in the litter our lovely Can. Ch. Renaissance Glory Bound. From these 2 wonderful hound, we were propelled into the future with many CHAMPIONS and wonderful companions!
